Donald Santini, also known as America’s most wanted suspect,  who had evaded capture for almost four decades, has finally been arrested. The 65-year-old Santini has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 1984 killing of Cynthia Wood, a 33-year-old woman from Florida, People reported.

What America’s Most Wanted Suspect Did to Evade Capture

To evade capture, America’s most wanted suspect employed a staggering 13 different aliases, as revealed by an arrest warrant cited by  USA Today. Authorities discovered him in San Diego, where he was working as the president of a water board in Campo, as reported by NBC 15.

In a remarkable display of audacity, America’s most wanted suspect frequently appeared at public board meetings, remaining hidden in plain sight.

Cynthia Wood’s murder was a puzzling case that remained unsolved for nearly four decades. At the time of her killing, Wood was going through a divorce with her husband, as detailed by Fox News.

Her lifeless body was discovered strangled and discarded in a canal, with America’s most wanted suspect Santini emerging as the prime suspect in the investigation. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement agencies never ceased their pursuit of justice in Wood’s case.

America’s Most Wanted Suspect Finally Arrested

The arrest of America’s most wanted suspect took place on Wednesday morning, and Santini was subsequently sent to Orient Road Jail, according to a statement from the  Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office

America’s most wanted suspect  Santini gained notoriety for his elusive nature, having been featured three times on the television show ‘America’s Most Wanted.’

His appearance on the program in 1990, 2005, and 2013 brought him to the attention of the nation, triggering a widespread search that extended as far as Thailand, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to his alleged involvement in Wood’s murder, Santini has a prior criminal history, having served time in prison for the rape of another woman.
