A poll released Monday shows that President Biden will be leaving office in 2024 with a big group of voters who are not supporting him.
Key Demographics Shift Away, Posing Challenges for Reelection
A USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll shows that President Biden is behind former President Donald Trump by 37% to 39%. This is because it is hard for him to keep the group of voters that helped him win in 2020.
The poll shows that Biden’s support has dropped significantly among key groups. For example, among black voters, his approval dropped from 87% to 63%, and Trump is ahead among voters under 35 and Hispanic voters.
People are worried about Biden’s reelection campaign because his acceptance ratings are going down. This is especially true since other recent polls show that he will have a hard time beating Trump in several swing states.

Improved Economic Outlook Amid Concerns Over Biden’s Primary and Potential Third-Party Challenges
Even though people are worried about Biden’s approval numbers, the poll shows that people are feeling better about the economy. More than half of those polled (29% of those surveyed) think it is recovering, which is up from 21% in October.
Also, the poll shows that Biden is the clear favorite in the Democratic primary, with no real opponents in sight. But when there are more candidates, including third-party candidates, Trump’s support rises, which could be a problem for Biden in the upcoming race. With 1,000 likely voters, the study was done from December 26–29. It has a 3.1% margin of error.
