Bomb Threat Suspect Arrested After Reports From College Town In Mississippi

• Lily Mestemacher was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat against a college town in Mississippi. Fortunately, after authorities searched the area, it was declared secure.

On January 31, police officers from the Oxford Police Department in Mississippi have received reports of an alleged bomb threat at an area in the college town in neighboring Mississippi. Upon searching the said area with a K-9 unit, the Oxford Police declared it secure.

According to Brown, the bomb threat suspect was identified as Lily Mestemacher, 29, from Conway, Arkansas. Conway is reportedly almost four hours away from Mississippi. Mestemacher was then arrested for posting on social media about a bomb threat in a college town in Mississippi. Mestemacher was issued an arrest warrant by the Conway Police Department later that night and faced charges of false reporting of placing explosives.

Bomb Threat Suspect Faced Charges

According to Rogers, authorities said that Mestemacher waived extradition to Arkansas. On February 10, Mestemacher was transported to Oxford where a Justice Court judge from Lafayette County set the bomb threat suspect’s bond at $50,000. After Mestemacher’s mugshot was released, some social media accounts and outlets claimed that the bomb threat suspect is a transgender woman. However, the Oxford Police disagreed with the claims. Breck Jones, the Oxford Police Department’s PIO stated that Mestemacher is intersexual and identifies herself as a woman.
