Renewal of Historic Dayton Landmarks through Ohio Historic Tax Credits

Two historic landmarks in downtown Dayton have been awarded $4.9 million in Ohio Historic Tax Credits for a $50.6 million renovation project. The Fidelity Medical Building at 211 S. Main St. will be converted into a mixed-use space with over 100 apartments upstairs and retail and entertainment downstairs. Construction is set to start in summer 2024, aiming for completion by May 2026, as reported by Downtown Dayton.

Restoration and Renewal: Dayton’s Historic Landmarks Transform for the Future

Built in 1869, the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church & Parish Hall at 239 Wayne Avenue will be repurposed by Weyland Ventures. It ceased religious use in 2017 and will be transformed into entertainment and retail spaces. Additionally, 70 hotel rooms will be added across two nearby buildings. Construction begins August 2024, targeting completion by late 2025, boosting Dayton’s urban renewal efforts.
