Life Sentence for Kevin Buckley in Louisiana Couple’s Murder Case
Following his confession to the 2021 murders of Lewis Travis, 55, and his wife, Iva Travis, 54, Kevin Buckley, 37, was given a life sentence. After the couple, who were residents of Louisiana, vanished in February, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office launched an inquiry. Shortly after the couple vanished, Buckley, who had lived and worked with them for years, was taken into custody.

Buckley Pleads Guilty and Receives Life Sentences for Louisiana Couple’s Murders
In court, Buckley entered a guilty plea to the first-degree murder charges and was given a life sentence for each count. The victims’ manner of death was not disclosed by the prosecution, but they did claim that Buckley admitted to killing the pair and gave information about where their remains were found. The couple’s family members gave heartfelt testimony in court, expressing their love and concern for Buckley in spite of his deeds. District Attorney Scott Perrilloux acknowledged the seriousness of the case by pointing out how uncommon it is for a defendant to enter a guilty plea to such significant charges.
