Florida Parents Charged With Aggravated Manslaughter After 3-Year-Old Child With Autism Was Found Floating in a Pond

Police authorities charged and arrested two Florida parents with manslaughter after their 3-year-old child was found floating in a pond.

Florida Parents Were Charged With Manslaughter

The Sanford Police Department responded at the Crosby at Towne Center apartments after they received reports of a missing 3-year-old boy. During the investigation, it was found that the missing 3-year-old boy was diagnosed with autism and had gone missing three other times before.

In a published article in FOX News, Lester Ortiz, the father of the child, said that he had last seen his son 20 minutes before the police authorities arrived. Meanwhile, Barbara Luiz, the boy’s mother, said that her son was in the living room and she was in the bathroom around 12:40 p.m.

Both parents were charged and arrested with aggravated manslaughter. Additionally, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office did not give or release any comments.

Deceased Body of the 3-Year-Old Boy Was Found Floating in a Pond

According to an article published in NBC Miami, The Sanford Police Department found the deceased body of the 3-year-old child floating in a pond near the apartment. The mother of the child said that at one point she heard the door open and close and told her teenage daughter to investigate.

Furthermore, authorities revealed that the house smelled “freshly smoked marijuana” and was in disarray when they arrived at the home.
