In the afternoon of January 19, someone called the Topeka Police Department to report a theft at Milk and Honey Coffee Co., which is located at 2200 SE 29th St. The Suspect, a 21-year-old Topeka resident named Julia Mendez, allegedly broke into the business and demanded money, causing chaos and panic.

When they got the call, the police arrived and started their investigation. Others at Milk and Honey Coffee Co. described a tense situation, including Mendez’s demand for money and the unsettling environment she created there.

With the help of witness accounts and surveillance images, the police could quickly identify and stop the Suspect’s car. Two people were caught inside, and one was proven to be Julia Mendez. There were no problems during the arrest, which ensured the suspects and the public were safe.
