According to source, Susan Birdsong, a Jefferson City resident, is now facing legal repercussions for allegedly obtaining more than $25,000 in Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits through false means. The charges stem from Birdsong’s failure to disclose her spouse’s income from Charter Communications on her SNAP applications between September 2018 and November 2022, resulting in an unauthorized $25,496 worth of benefits. Cole County prosecutors have filed a felony charge against Birdsong, accusing her of stealing $25,000 or more and unlawfully receiving public assistance benefits, emphasizing the seriousness of the false information charge.
