Local News in Virginia: A Woman And His Boyfriend Was Convicted After Attempting To Kill His Ex-Boyfriend

  • After sending her ex-boyfriend a birthday text message, a Virginia woman was found guilty on Wednesday of trying to kill him.

On March 29, the Office of the Louisa Commonwealth Attorney reported that Erann Ohse, 25, and Andrew Poindexter, 26, drove from Fredericksburg to the residence of Ohse’s ex-boyfriend in Louisa County while donning ski masks and carrying handguns. They had numerous extra rounds of ammunition as well.

According to an article published by The Fox on February 16, 2023, Ohse sent the ex-boyfriend text messages wishing him a happy birthday just hours before she and Poindexter arrived at the house to kill him.

When Ohse and Poindexter arrived at the house, they made an attempt to enter through the front door, according to the authorities. Ohse shot 10 rounds from a 9mm into the ex-bedroom boyfriend’s window after they were unsuccessful in getting through, hitting a woman in the shoulder.

When the victims in the house dialed 911, they reported seeing a car that looked like Poindexter’s Chevrolet Camaro. After receiving the call, deputies quickly located the car, but the suspects took them on a chase with speeds close to 120 mph, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Ohse’s jacket, deputies found a loaded 9mm handgun and an empty magazine. Additionally discovered were ski masks, disposable gloves, and almost a pound of marijuana.

Ohse entered a plea of guilty to a number of charges, including eluding police and attempted second-degree murder, malicious wounding, using a firearm during the commission of a crime, and attempted armed burglary. On the other hand, Poindexter already admitted guilt to many of the same charges in addition to marijuana possession with the intent to distribute.

Poindexter could spend up to 70 years in prison while Ohse could receive up to 63 years.
