On Tuesday, a mother and her unborn child died in a gunshot on a Georgia Highway, according to the police reports.
In a recently published article in MSN, Akeila Ware, 29, of LaGrange, Georgia, was recognized as the victim and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Doctors realized she was pregnant and that the unborn child had perished as a result of the shooting. Following the shooting on Highway 18, Troup County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) officers have initiated a murder investigation.
Furthermore, police and emergency services rushed to the highway at E. Drummond Road at 12:49 p.m., according to a post on the TCSO Facebook page, after reports of a collision and probable casualties.
Investigation: TCSO for the Killing, Georgia State Patrol for the Collision
Newsweek obtained a copy of the statement, which states that when deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a four-door passenger automobile with an adult female driver who was unconscious and several bullet wounds in the car’s side. Thus, after being extricated from the car, the victim was sent to a Columbus hospital in severe condition.
In addition to the statement, based on information obtained on the site by Sheriff’s Office investigators and Georgia State Patrol Troopers, it seems a second vehicle was engaged in the crime, and the gunshot happened potentially around the intersection of Highway 18 and Whitesville Road.
The second vehicle involved in the collision is believed to be a silver Nissan automobile with probable front-end damage, according to the TCSO. However, no one has been apprehended in connection with the incident, according to the TCSO.
On the other hand, while the TCSO is investigating the killing, the Georgia State Patrol will investigate the collision. Call the TCSO Criminal Investigation Division at 706-883-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 70-812-1000 if you have any information regarding the event.
