The FBI is helping in the hunt for Miya Marcano who went missing from an Orlando apartment complex last Friday, according to the Orange County sheriff. Sheriff John Mina said the bureau is assisting in the hunt for the 19-year-old woman, who was last seen at the Arden Villas Luxury Apartments in Orlando about 5 p.m. on Friday.

Mina told reporters at a news conference that the sheriff’s emergency response team and other agencies have undertaken almost 30 searches throughout Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties since Marcano went missing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, according to the sheriff, has aided with specially trained hounds that can detect devices, particularly cell phones. Other local authorities contributed dogs and dive teams to search for corpses in the water and helicopters and other aviation assets. Over 60 Orange County investigators are working on the investigation full-time, NPR said.

Person of Interest Died Of Suicide

South Arkansas Sun reported Armando Manuel Caballero died of suicide earlier this week. Caballero, who worked at the flats, allegedly visited Marcano’s apartment without her consent, according to Mina. He was wanted for burglary. Caballero became the person of interest in the investigation.

Caballero had access to a master key, which he used to gain entry to Marcano’s residence about 4:30 p.m. last Friday, according to Mina, who gave media an update Monday. The sheriff stated Thursday that no additional persons are being sought in connection with Marcano’s disappearance. The investigation is still ongoing and that things may change. Caballero, he added, “was the key guy that we were focusing on.”

According to the sheriff’s office, Miya Marcano was last seen at her apartment complex wearing a red shirt, trousers, and a black sweatshirt. Marcano “had a planned flight that evening but never made it on the plane,” according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. Authorities are giving a $15,000 bounty leading to Marcano’s whereabouts as of Friday, the sheriff’s office added.
