Chicago Burglaries: CPD Issues Warning as Multiple Restaurants Burglarized in Quick Succession

Chicago burglaries incidents took place in West Byron, North Ravenswood, West Sunnyside, and North Lincoln.

Chicago Burglaries Targets

A series of Chicago burglaries targeting restaurants on the North Side of Chicago has prompted a warning from the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

Thieves target cash and alcohol in a string of break-ins within a 30-minute timeframe, ABC 7 reported.

Within a span of approximately 30 minutes early Sunday morning, at least four robberies were reported, all located within a mile-and-a-half radius of each other.

According to CPD, in each Chicago burglaries incident, the perpetrators used a tool to break a window, subsequently making off with cash and alcohol before fleeing the scene.

The suspects, described as wearing face coverings and hooded sweatshirts, range in number from one to five individuals.

Chicago Burglaries Affected Areas and Timings

The affected areas and respective timings of the Chicago burglaries are as follows:

  1. The 1900 block of West Byron Street in North Center, was targeted just after 3:45 a.m.
  2. The 4200 block of North Ravenswood Avenue in North Center, where the break-in occurred at approximately 4 a.m.
  3. The 1700 block of West Sunnyside Avenue in Ravenswood, where the incident took place just after 4:10 a.m.
  4. The 2800 block of North Lincoln Avenue, fell victim to a burglary just after 4:15 a.m.

Business owners in the affected neighborhoods are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to secure their establishments.

CPD has not released specific details about the tool used to break the windows or any additional evidence found at the crime scenes of Chicago burglaries.

The CPD has urged anyone with information regarding these Chicago burglaries incidents to contact the Bureau of Detectives Area Three at 312-744-8263.
