A new guaranteed income program will be available in Massachusetts and will be given to eligible applicants in Massachusetts. The application will start in two days.
The program is called Rise Up Cambridge that is intended to help households with at least one child. This program is being funded by a commitment from Cambridge, Massachusetts worth $22 million.
The applications for this program will open on June 1 and will close on July 31. The applications will be approved on a rolling basis.
Those who are eligible will be given $500 monthly payments for 18 straight months with a total of $9,000 each. Restrictions on how to spend the money were not released.

How To Qualify For A $500 Monthly Payment?
An applicant must be a resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts to qualify for the $500 monthly payment. Must be at least 18 years old and have at least one person in their household under 21.
The income requirement depends on how many people live in the household. A mother and a child or a household of 2 will be eligible for the payment if they make no more than $49,300 a year. While a household of 3 will qualify if their annual income does not go over $62,150. In every additional household member, the income limits slightly increase.
Washington Examiner reported that in addition to receiving the monthly payments, those who are eligible can make money by participating in surveys or by documenting their experiences in the program. It will be optional and those who partake will be compensated for the time spent on the side projects.
