Government Spending Bill Passes House, But White House Threatens Veto
Veto Threatened Over Controversial Policy Riders
According to WashingTonExaminer, The US House of Representatives has passed a big Veterans Bill for military construction and helping veterans. This Veterans Bill is the first of 12 bills that the government needs to pass each year. The vote was 209-197, with most Republicans voting yes and most Democrats voting no. But the White House doesn’t like this Veterans Bill and says it will veto it.
The reason for the veto is that some Republicans added special rules to the bill. These rules would make it harder for some veterans to get help and would also cut funding for some important programs. The White House thinks these rules are bad and don’t help the country.
