Macy’s CVC Sheets Class Action Settlement: $10.5 Million to be Distributed Amid Advertising Claims
Inflated Prices? Macy’s Settles Bed Sheet Lawsuit, Offers Compensation to Eligible Customers
Macy’s finds itself settling a class action lawsuit concerning its CVC Sheets, as plaintiffs alleged that the thread count on the sheets was falsely advertised, leading to inflated prices. Despite not admitting any wrongdoing, Macy’s agreed to a hefty $10.5 million settlement to resolve the claims and avoid further legal proceedings. Customers who purchased CVC Sheets from Macy’s between November 8, 2013, and March 24, 2023, may be eligible for compensation without needing to provide proof of purchase. However, those who can verify their purchases could receive higher payouts of up to $7.50 per set of sheets, while those without documentation may still qualify for $2.50 per household. For affected customers seeking compensation, the process to file a claim is relatively straightforward. Claimants can submit their claims through a form on the settlement website, even if they haven’t received a Notice ID. However, deadlines have already passed for exclusion, objection, and comment periods, as well as a final hearing held in October 2023. The crucial deadline for filing a claim form is April 17, 2024, allowing eligible customers 180 days from the settlement’s effective date to seek compensation. Individuals with inquiries can reach out to the settlement administrator via email or phone provided in the settlement information.
