Three Weeks Left To Claim Up To $800 Tax Rebates In South Carolina

There are only three weeks left to claim up to $800 in tax rebates in South Carolina. Applicants have only until February 15 to file 2021 taxes and receive the tax rebates in March.

The residents of California have only three weeks left to claim $800 worth of tax rebates under a cash assistance program. Taxpayers who have filed their 2021 taxes on October 17, 2022 should have already received their tax rebates last year. For taxpayers who have decided to file late, fortunately, they can still apply for the tax rebates. However, late filers only have until February 15 to do so. With this deadline extension, the late filers can look forward to receiving their tax rebates in March, as reported by Notheis.

According to Russo, the state of South Carolina has begun issuing the tax rebates to eligible recipients last November 2022. In December of the same year, South Carolina’s Department of Revenue has announced that the state had already issued 1.39 million tax rebates which amounted to a total of $942 million.

Who is eligible for these tax rebates?

Russo also stated that to be eligible for these tax rebates, an applicant must have filed for an extension and an income tax liability for 2021. Those who have lived in South Carolina for the entire or some time in 2021 can also be eligible as long as they have filed their income taxes that year. For filers who have tax liabilities of no more than $800 can receive tax rebates equal to the amount of their liabilities. If the tax liabilities are more than $800, the tax rebates will be exactly $800 as well. Based on what was stated in the 2021 taxes, the tax rebates will be issued either through direct deposit or paper checks.
