According to TrueCrimeNews in Louisville, Kentucky, a 22-year-old woman named Daira Mejia-Aguilar was arrested after police found a decomposing newborn’s body in a plastic bag at her apartment on Zorn Avenue. The baby was discovered hidden in a closet with signs of decay and flies nearby. Mejia-Aguilar confessed that she first put the baby in her car’s trunk and then moved it back to the closet the next day. She’s charged with mistreating a corpse and has pleaded not guilty, and is now on house arrest while the legal process continues.
