According to SantaCruzSentinel, in a recent court hearing, a 20-year-old man named Samuel Brannigan Stone from Santa Cruz faced a serious charge for the death of his 21-year-old girlfriend, Zainab Mansoor, on February 23. The police showed evidence, like what they saw and heard, including a call Stone made to 911 where he said he strangled Mansoor. Both Stone and Mansoor went to UC Santa Cruz, but Stone left in January. They were found at Seabright State Beach where the bad thing happened.

Insights from Investigation: Detective and Officer Testimonies Shed Light on Santa Cruz Murder Case
Detective Dave Rosell, who’s in charge of the investigation, shared what they learned from the doctor who looked at Mansoor’s body after she died. They found out she died because something bad happened to her neck. Officer Tori Zimmermann, who was one of the first Americans there, told the court about how Stone acted after it happened. He seemed sorry and said things like he was taking responsibility. Even though Stone didn’t cause any trouble when he was arrested, there’s still more to figure out in court. He’s coming back for another court date on May 21.
