Former Personal Assistant to Duchess of York Found Dead in Dallas Apartment in Apparent Homicide

According to CBS News, a former personal assistant to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was tragically discovered dead in a Dallas apartment, with authorities suspecting a homicide. The victim, 46-year-old Jenean Chapman, was found lifeless when officers from the Dallas Police Department responded to a call at an Elm Street apartment on Monday afternoon, September 25.

Subsequently, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Chapman’s death to be a homicide, leading to the reclassification of the investigation from an unexplained death to a murder probe. Expressing her shock and sadness, Sarah Ferguson, in an Instagram post, mourned the loss of Jenean Chapman, who had once served as her personal assistant.

Ferguson revealed that she had recently been in contact with Chapman, who appeared happy. The family of the victim initiated a fundraising effort to transport her remains back to New York City and cover legal and funeral expenses, which Ferguson pledged to support.

Former Personal Assistant’s Murder Suspect Apprehended and Charged; Investigation Continues

Sarah Ferguson’s connection to the British royal family was also mentioned in the context of her former marriage to Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s third child. The couple was married from 1986 until their legal separation in 1992 and has two daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

A significant development has occurred in the case of Jenean Chapman, the former personal assistant, as a suspect named James Patrick, aged 48, has been apprehended and formally charged in connection with her murder. University of Texas police in Austin successfully took Patrick into custody, and he is now facing a murder charge. Currently, he is being held in Travis County, which encompasses Austin.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding Jenean Chapman’s murder to reach out to Detective John Valdez at the Dallas Police Department. Despite efforts to gather additional information, CBS News had not received an immediate response from Detective Valdez at the time of this report.
