Manatee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a couple from Manatee County, Florida for having, sending and creating child pornography featuring children between the ages of 10 months and 10 years old.

Sierra Campany, 24, and Nicholas Bassler Jr., 24, are charged with capital sexual battery, a crime that carries a mandatory life sentence without the chance of parole as a punishment.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reportedly provided many cybertips to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit on June 5, 2023, alleging the spread of child sex abuse content on Facebook.

Detectives discovered the transmission originated from a location in the 5000 block of 23rd Street West in Bradenton after the photographs were confirmed to be child exploitation material.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office got in touch with Campany and Bassler, Jr. on September 13. 

They claimed that after a warrant was served, various pieces of equipment, including the tablet mentioned in the internet tip, were seized. 

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported that several exploitation photos and videos of the pair abusing one another were discovered on their devices during forensics.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office also claimed that Bassler and Campany had admitted to the crimes.

On September 14, Campany was arrested for capital sexual battery, and Bassler was arrested the following day for the same offense.

Additional charges against both defendants include child pornography possession, transmission, and production.
