UB Students Helped Families Claim Over $300K in Tax Refunds This Year

University at Buffalo Students Assist 400+ Families with Tax Returns, Securing $300K+

University at Buffalo students helped people with their taxes again this year. They helped people get back more than $300,000 in tax refunds. The students are part of a group called UB Accounting Association and another group called Beta Alpha Psi. They spent a lot of time helping people fill out their tax forms for free. They helped over 400 families who earn less than $73,000 a year.

Some of the money they helped people get back is called Earned Income Credit. This money is for families who don’t earn a lot of money. It helps them with their finances, according to the report of Audacy.

The dean of the UB School of Management thanked the students for their hard work. He said they did a great job, even though they had a lot of schoolwork. He thinks their work is important because it helps people in the community.

Since 2008, students from the School of Management have helped people get back more than $13.3 million in tax refunds. A lot of this money is from Earned Income Credit too. This shows that the students are doing a good job helping people with their taxes every year.
