Coalition Strikes Down Drone Attack: Red Sea Shipping Routes Secured
According to the report of VOA, U.S., French and British forces have successfully downed dozens of drones in the Red Sea area after Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group targeted bulk carriers and U.S. destroyers in the region. The Houthi group has been attacking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November claiming it is a campaign of solidarity with Palestinians during the Israel-Gaza conflict.

French and British Military Join Efforts to Thwart Houthi Drone Attacks in Red Sea Region
The U.S. military and coalition forces have managed to thwart the attacks with no damage reported on U.S. or Coalition Navy vessels or commercial ships. In response to the large-scale attack the military has been working to protect merchant vessels and other ships in the region from potential drone attack. France has also played a role in this defensive action protecting a cargo ship and other commercial vessels in the area. The UK’s Ministry of Defense reported that its warship HMS Richmond successfully repelled a Houthi drone attack without any injuries or damage.
