Secretary of Defense Emphasizes Defensive Measures to Protect American Interests

According to American Military News, following a series of attacks on U.S. troops by groups supported by Iran the US launches military attacks on Iranian, Americans strikes two times on facilities in Syria linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. These US launches military attacks on Iranian were ordered by President Biden and aimed to protect American soldiers after recent attacks in Iraq and Syria. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin explained that these  US launches military attacks on Iranian were defensive actions. Despite Iran denying involvement in the attacks Austin stressed that the U.S. will take further action if necessary to defend its troops and interests.

US Launches Military Attacks on Iranian Emphasizes Defense and De-escalation

The US launches military attacks on Iranian were in response to attacks over the past week that resulted in the death of one U.S. contractor and injuries to 21 service members including 19 with traumatic brain injuries. Secretary Austin reiterated that protecting U.S. personnel is a top priority for President Biden. He clarified that the US launches military attacks on Iranian were specifically targeted for defense and emphasized that the U.S. doesn’t seek conflict but will respond to attacks to ensure the safety of its troops. Secretary Austin also emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation in the region. He stated that the US launches military attacks on Iranian against Iran-linked groups don’t indicate a change in the U.S.’s approach to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The U.S. remains committed to urging all parties to avoid actions that could lead to a wider conflict.
