Representative Paul Takac (D-Centre) is spearheading a series of seminars aimed at guiding Centre County residents through Pennsylvania’s Property Tax Rebate Program, WTAJ reported. This initiative aims to support eligible homeowners and renters by providing rebates ranging from $380 to $1,000.
Expanding Access to Tax Rebate Program
The Property Tax Rebate Program, funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery, has recently broadened its eligibility criteria, allowing an additional 175,000 Pennsylvanians to qualify for rebates. This expansion raises the income-eligibility limit to $45,000 for both homeowners and renters, ensuring more individuals can benefit from the program’s assistance.
Representative Takac views the expansion of the Property Tax Rebate Program as a significant legislative achievement. By championing this initiative, he aims to maximize enrollment among seniors and eligible individuals in Centre County, providing vital financial relief to those in need.
The upcoming series of Property Tax Rebate Program clinics, organized by Representative Takac, will offer residents the opportunity to learn about the program and sign up for rebates. These clinics will be held at various locations across Centre County, providing convenient access to valuable resources.
Clinic Details and Application Process
Residents interested in applying for a rebate during the clinics should come prepared with documentation of all income from 2023, including Social Security Income and other sources. Homeowners must also bring proof of their 2023 tax bills, while renters need to submit the PA Rent Certificate along with details of their total rent paid in 2023.
The clinics will take place on specific dates and locations, including Snow Shoe Township Building, Takac’s District Office in State College, Howard United Methodist Church, and Boggs Township Building in Bellefonte.
