Honoring Military Veterans at Wreaths Across America
In honor of National Wreaths Across America Day, Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Yuma, Arizona, held a touching service where wreaths were laid. The event, which honored those who bravely served our country, was meant to help to “Remember, Honor, Teach,” which means keeping the memory of our heroes alive.
Chris Morse, Deputy Mayor of Yuma, said some very moving things that turned the event into a moving tribute to those who gave their lives. People in the community came together to honor the brave people who have served. It was a day of solemn thought and remembrance.
At the ceremony, eight wreaths were laid, one for each of the 92,129 POW/MIA troops who have not been returned to their families and members of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and the Merchant Marines.

After the formal ceremony, family and friends of the soldiers who died could personally put wreaths on their graves, which made the event feel very personal.
The touching service not only touched the people who were there, but it also showed how dedicated the community is to remembering and honoring those who have served our country. This event will have a lasting effect on everyone who was able to be a part of it.
