An inmate escaped from a hospital after two Virginia Department of Corrections officers tasked to watch the inmate fell asleep.
Inmate Escaped from a Hospital
An inmate identified as Naseem Isaiah Roulack, 21 years old, escaped from a hospital after the two Virginia Department of Corrections officers tasked to watch him fell asleep. An administrative investigation revealed that the two officers admitted their mistake.
In a published article in FOX News, Roulack was sent to the hospital for an MRI procedure but it was found during the investigation that the metal cuffs on his hands and legs were not replaced with more secure metal cuffs that led to his escape.

Correction Officers Resigned
According to a published article in Yahoo News, the two officers have resigned following the incident. Authorities did not reveal the identities of the officers. Meanwhile, the U.S. Marshals Service said that the inmate is considered “armed and dangerous.”
VADOC Director Chadwick Dotson said in a statement, “I thank the Special Investigations Unit for their thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Roulack’s escape. The Department will learn from these findings to ensure that we are providing the most effective incarceration, which leads to lasting public safety for the Commonwealth.”
