Murray Shares Sentiments About His Late Grandmother

Three-time champion Andy Murray took home the Davis Cup after ruling Switzerland’s Leandro Riedi scoring 6-7 6-4 6-4, the Briton’s 33rd singles victory in the competition. The 36-year-old professional tennis player mustered up the courage before he was able to share his sentiments about missing out on the funeral of his late grandmother to play in the tournament and bring home the Davis Cup. Murray felt sorry for the ill-fated circumstance where the Davis Cup, according to him, was dedicated to his grandmother.

Murray’s Reason In Choosing Davis Cup Over His Grandmother’s Funeral

As Murray went back to his chair, he sunk his head into his towel, the 9000-strong crowd gave him a consoling farewell as well as a comforting round of applause. If you’re wondering why would Murray choose the Davis Cup over his grandmother’s funeral, it was because he previously had a talk with his father about whether or not to honor his commitment and his late grandmother had asked him to play as his father reminded him to win the Davis Cup so he did.
