The search efforts for Mattie Sheils and Conrad have been extensive, with rescue workers and law enforcement tirelessly working to find them. The Upper Makefield Police Township Police Department expressed their gratitude that prayers were answered and Mattie Sheils’s body was brought home, but the search continues for her little brother.

The Sheils family posted a heartfelt statement on the police township’s Facebook page, expressing their gratitude for the overwhelming support and concern from the community and people around the country. They remain hopeful for Conrad’s safe return and are touched by the compassion and kindness shown during this difficult time.

During a news conference on Friday, Upper Makefield Township Fire Chief Tim Brewer shared that a body believed to be Mattie Sheils’s had been found in the Delaware River in Philadelphia. The discovery was made after multiple 911 callers reported it. The body was taken to the Philadelphia coroner’s office for identification.

Location Of Mattie Sheils’s Body

The location of the girl’s body was about 32 miles south of where the tragic incident occurred. Authorities have been tirelessly searching for any sign of Mattie Sheils and Conrad since July 15 when the storm claimed multiple lives.
