The Social Security Administration (SSA)’s recipients for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive their second batch of payments for this month on June 30. The first batch of Social Security checks in 2023 has already been distributed on June 1.

According to Blake, the double payments in June is due to the SSA schedule. Two Social Security checks in 2023 are provided for the months where the first day of the following month falls on a weekend or a holiday. This means that since the first day of July is on a weekend, the month of June will receive double payments.

Who will qualify for the Social Security checks in 2023?

According to Severi, to be able to qualify for the Social Security checks in 2023, an individual must be 65 years or older. They must also be partially blind or have a grave physical or mental illness that will severely limit their daily activities for 12 months or more or that may result in death.

Reportedly, individual filers will receive Social Security checks in 2023 worth $914, while joint filers will receive $1,371. On the other hand, essential persons, who live with SSI beneficiaries and take care of them, will receive $458.
