Every first of the month is the usual schedule of release for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks but with the most recent payment dropping on June 1.

In addition to the federal $914 check, 33 states have proposed an increase.

The Benefits will differ by state, but New York proposes an extra $87 a month for individuals or $104 for couples, while Alabama married couples can gain a $120 boost.

The next payment will be falling on June 30 because July 1 slips on a Saturday and payments aren’t sent out on weekends. The first was sent on June 1. The second payment is going to take place the July’s payment due to July 1 falling on a weekend.

Hence, this June there will be a double payment because of a small quirk in the Social Security Administration’s timetable.

The Gazette news reported that there is some variation in the amount of money beneficiaries obtain, and individual filers, joint filers, and important individuals acquire different payments. Recipients who file individually obtain $914 every month, while eligible couples receive $1,371, and essential persons, who live with people acquiring SSI payments and provide them with necessary care, get a monthly payment of $458, according to the SSA.

Here’s How To Qualify For The $914 Direct Payment From Social Security Supplemental Income

SSI payments are offered on top of regular Social Security benefits. The Social Security Supplemental Income provides a monthly payment to adults and children with blindness or another disability and has a small amount of earnings.

In order to qualify for SSI, an applicant should be beyond 65, be totally or partially blind, or suffer from a “physical or mental challenge that very seriously restricts their daily activities for a period of 12 months or more or may be expected to result in death.”

Every first of each month the payments are often disbursed, there are instances that need to be except if the first falls on a weekend or a holiday. In those circumstances, the SSA sends its monthly SSI checks on the last business day prior to the beginning of the month.
