The U.S. Congress approved an omnibus spending bill that discontinued the emergency SNAP Benefits 2023. This decision came after U.S. officials announced that COVID-19 is no longer a public health emergency.

The SNAP Benefits 2023 has undergone changes this year that will possibly affect around 42 million recipients who participate in the program. The U.S. Congress reportedly approved the Consolidated Appropriations Act, an omnibus spending bill. By February, this initiative discontinued the emergency benefits funded by the U.S. federal government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Villalovas, this means that the amount to be received in SNAP Benefits 2023 have changed beginning in the month of April. This decision reportedly came after the U.S. officials deemed and announced that the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer a public health emergency.

SNAP Benefits 2023 Changes

According to DiBenedetto, the amount in SNAP Benefits 2023 will begin changing in July. This means that the benefits that started in April 2020 will no longer be received because the payments will roll back to its pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels.

SNAP Benefits 2023 recipients may have already received a notification and a letter from the Department of Transitional Assistance regarding information about the changes. Nonetheless, recipients who are still enrolled in the program are still eligible. This means that the amount of benefits to be received still depend on the recipient’s size of household, monthly income, and other expenses.
