Three former police officers were sentenced to probation for the death of 8-year-old Fanta Bility in Pennsylvania. The officers pleaded guilty stating one of their bullets struck the girl during a shooting confrontation with another group of young men.
In August 2021, Fanta Bility, 8, was leaving a high school football game with her family in Sharon Hill, Philadelphia when a shooting incident occurred. The incident reportedly happened near the Academy Park High School stadium where a verbal confrontation between a group of young men escalated into shooting.According to Sylla, three police officers who were at the Academy Park High School heard the shooting and fired at a moving vehicle between them and the football stadium. Unfortunately, Fanta Bility and her family were inside that vehicle. Apart from Fanta, three others were also injured during the shooting, including Fanta’s 12-year-old sister.

Officers Sentenced for the Death of Fanta Bility
According to Holden, the three police officers were identified as Brian Devaney, Devon Smith, and Sean Dolan. Reports say all three were fired after facing charges of manslaughter and ten counts of reckless endangerment. In November 2022, the former officers pleaded guilty to the charges after admitting that one of their bullets struck Fanta Bility.
Eventually, on May 5, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Margie McAboy stated that all three were sentenced to five years of probation, with the first 11 months on house arrest. Unfortunately, investigators were not able to determine which of the former officers have shot the bullet that killed Fanta Bility.
