Elementary School Teacher is Charged, Arrested Due to Multiple Child Pornography in Georgia

An elementary school teacher was charged and arrested because of multiple child pornography and sexual child exploitation.

Elementary School Teacher Involved in Child Pornography

Authoties identified the elementary school teacher as James Andrew “Drew” Cecil, 38 years old, who is now facing multiple counts of child pornography charges. Specificaly, he was charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography and one count of child exploitation.

In a published article in FOX News, the elementary school teacher was caught after authorities received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. Deputies immediately conducted series of investigations after receiving the tip and found evidence of online sexual exploitation of a child.

Who is James Andrew Cecil?

Before he was charged and arrested, the elementary school teacher James Andrew Cecil was teaching at Poole’s Mill Elementary in Cumming. He handled Grade 4 pupils and was also volleyball coach at North Forsyth High School for five years before he decided to transfer to Poole’s Mill Elemenatary.

According to a report published in Yahoo News, the district released a statement saying, “He has not been at school since April 14 when we were made aware of the allegations against him. As of April 21, he is no longer employed with Forsyth County Schools.”

Moreover, the investigators also clarified that there were no pupils and students from the school district where the suspect is currently assigned were involved. Cecil is now booked into the Forsyth County Jail on a $55,200 bond. Furthermore, the investigating continues about this matter.
