The North Carolina mother and grandmother of a 10-month-old baby girl were charged and arrested after the baby was rushed to the hospital due to critical injuries.
North Carolina Mother and Grandmother Were Arrested
A North Carolina mother Atheena Peet, 32 years old, and the grandmother of the 10-month-old baby Linda Peet, 55 years old, were both arrested on April 21. This is after the Eden Police Department patrol officers responded to their home at 203 S. Fieldcrest Road.
According to a report published in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the 10-month-old baby was unconscious when they arrived at the home. The Rockingham County EMS personnel arrived immediately and rushed the baby to the University of North Carolina Health Rockingham was treated.
It was found that the 10-month-old baby suffered from critical injuries. Though it was not clear how the baby got it, police officers still arrested the North Carolina mother and the grandmother of the baby.
North Carolina Mother Was Set at $25,000 Bond
The 10-month-old baby is still in the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering from critical injuries. She still continues to receive medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the North Carolina mother and grandmother were arrested on April 21 after an in-depth investigation. They were both charged with felony child abuse resulting in serious physical injury. Athena Peet was set at a $25,000 bond while Linda Peet was at a $5,000 bond.
