A new batch of Pentagon papers leaked on social media a day after Biden administration officials announced they were investigating a possible leak of confidential Ukranian war plans. These classified papers reportedly include secrets from Ukraine, Middle East, and China.

A day after the senior officials of U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration announced that they were investigating a possible leaked of the classified Ukranian war plans, a new batch of Pentagon papers leaked on social media. The Ukranian war plans reportedly include an assessment of the country’s unstable air defenses. One slide was even labeled “Secret/NOFORN” which means it is not meant to be shared to foreign countries.

An article on The New York Times states that the new batch of Pentagon papers leaked on social media on April 7 included national security secrets from Ukraine, Middle East, and China. Investigators say more than 100 documents that could be extremely damaging for the Five Eyes may have been obtained. The Five Eyes nations include the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand that widely share intelligence.

Investigations on the Pentagon Papers Leaked

According to an article on the NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, the U.S. Department of Justice is in communication with the Department of Defense and had conducted investigations on the Pentagon papers leaked. Former senior Pentagon official, Mick Mulroy, stated that the leak was a breach in security that could obstruct the Ukrainian military planning and damage the U.S., Ukraine, and NATO efforts.
