On March 16, Canadian actress Sharon Acker has reportedly died at the age of 87 at a retirement home in Toronto, Canada. Reports were confirmed by Acker’s daughter, Kim Everest. Acker was famously known as the TV series The New Perry Mason actress. She was married to actor-producer Peter J. Elkington who died in 2001. By then, Acker was left with her two daughters, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, and two stepchildren.According to Nolasco, The New Perry Mason actress’ career in Hollywood spans 40 years ago. Acker was also best remembered by fans as Odona, a cameo role in a 1969 episode of the original “Star Trek” series. Acker’s last TV appearance was on “The Young and the Restless” in 1992.

The New Perry Mason Actress’ Life Before Hollywood
According to Barnes, The New Perry Mason actress was born on April 2, 1935, in Toronto, Canada and was adopted at the age of 9. Before pursuing her acting career in 1956, Acker studied the arts. That same year, Acker played the role of Mrs. Stacey in “Anne of Green Gables”. Thereafter, she played the role of Anne Page in “The Merry Wives of Windsor” after joining the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Company. Acker then had actor William Shatner as a co-star who was also cast in “Star Trek” in the future.
Eventually, The New Perry Mason actress traveled to Europe with the Stratford company where she played in “Henry V”. In 1957, Acker made her big screen debut in “Lucky Jim”. She was discovered by British producers John and Ray Boulting who signed her into a contract of seven years. However, Acker reportedly ended things after getting married and having a child.
