Adhering to the Social Security Administration (SSA) payment schedule, up to $1,371 in Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will be received in 12 days, on March 31. SSI monthly payments are generally issued on the first day of the month except when it falls on a weekend or a holiday. Therefore, the upcoming Social Security checks in 2023 are for the month of April. However, since the first day of April is a Saturday, it is moved to March 31.According to Quirós Villalba, however, the monthly payment may not actually arrive on March 31. The issuance depends on the payment method chosen by the beneficiary. The SSA’s payment schedule is only the basis of when the agency will issue the Social Security checks in 2023 and not when the beneficiaries will receive them.

Who will receive the Social Security checks in 2023?
An article on the CNET states that any American who is given the SSI payments will also receive the Social Security checks in 2023 on March 31. In order to receive the monthly payments on the same day or as soon as possible, beneficiaries must activate the direct deposit payment. Receiving the monthly payments through a bank may be convenient but it may also be delayed. Nonetheless, the direct deposit payments may be linked to some bank accounts.
Unfortunately, beneficiaries who did not activate their direct deposit payments will not receive the Social Security checks in 2023 until April. This is because the payments can take up to 3 days to materialize in bank accounts.
