According to Quirós Villalba, however, the monthly payment may not actually arrive on March 31. The issuance depends on the payment method chosen by the beneficiary. The SSA’s payment schedule is only the basis of when the agency will issue the Social Security checks in 2023 and not when the beneficiaries will receive them.

Who will receive the Social Security checks in 2023?

In order to receive the monthly payments on the same day or as soon as possible, beneficiaries must activate the direct deposit payment. Receiving the monthly payments through a bank may be convenient but it may also be delayed. Nonetheless, the direct deposit payments may be linked to some bank accounts.
Unfortunately, beneficiaries who did not activate their direct deposit payments will not receive the Social Security checks in 2023 until April. This is because the payments can take up to 3 days to materialize in bank accounts.
