Due to heavy snow, the weather service expects traffic difficulties and hazards in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Rain and wintry precipitation are expected across the eastern plains due to warmer weather.

On Wednesday, fog and limited visibility covered the eastern plains and central Highlands, while snow deepened in the northern slopes. As precipitation accumulated in SE Colorado, meteorologists warned of hazardous roads in the evening commute.

The Eastern Idaho freeze advisory, in force since Tuesday evening, will end at noon on Thursday. The weather service said that freezing fog decreased visibility by a quarter mile in the eastern Magic Valley, Snake River Plain, Raft River Valley, and south-central Highlands regions.
