Land Ports in Xizang Experience Impressive Growth
This is an 80.2 percent year-over-year rise, according to the regional department of commerce. The ports of Gyirong, Burang, Zham, and Lektse handled 129,900 tons of cargo, a 47.4% increase.
Inbound and outgoing vehicles transiting through these land ports increased 110.2 percent year-over-year, along with trade value and volume.
This increase is due to the return of two-way cargo customs clearance and personnel exchanges at Zham, Gyirong, and Burang ports. Last November, the plateau region’s fourth land port, Lektse, opened.
