GoTopeka, the new relocation incentive program of the capital city of Kansas, is offering up to $15,000 toward the cost of housing. Reports say the relocation incentive program intends to encourage employed individuals located outside of Shawnee County to take a job and move into town.

According to Vega, the relocation incentive program received funding worth a total of $500,000. This suggests that eligible applicants of the relocation incentive program will be able to receive $15,000 for the cost of buying a house or $10,000 for rent expenses.

Who will qualify for the relocation incentive program?

According to Lawley, to be able to qualify for the relocation incentive program, an individual must purchase a primary residence or rent a house in the county of Shawnee within a year of moving to the city of Topeka for full-time employment.

Further reports say the individual’s employer must also participate in the relocation incentive program. This suggests that the employer must pay half of the housing incentive to reduce the number of eligible applicants. Lastly, needless to say, individuals must also be eligible to work in the United States.
