Pacific Air Forces Commander General Wilsbach states that Chinese pilots are risking disaster by repeatedly intercepting U.S. military planes in the Pacific. Nonetheless, Wilsbach also stated that the Chinese are only requested to execute safely because they ultimately have the right to intercept.
Pacific Air Forces Commander and U.S. Air Force General Kenneth S. Wilsbach states that the Chinese military pilots repeatedly executing dangerous intercepts of U.S. military planes in the Pacific are risking disaster.Nonetheless, according to Gordon, Wilsbach further stated that the Chinese military has the right to intercept like what U.S. military planes do when an aircraft flies inside their air identification zones. Wilsbach’s statement reportedly only requests the Chinese military to execute the intercepts safely and professionally to avoid miscalculation.

Chinese Intercepting U.S. Military Planes
According to Fitzgerald, Wilsbach stated that there are incidents where U.S. military planes are intercepted that The Pentagon considers dangerous. The U.S. and its allies have publicly revealed the dangerous incidents, but unfortunately, China was not willing to have a discussion about the matter.
Reports say China insists that most of the South China Sea where U.S. military planes fly is the East Asian country’s territory and the U.S. is to be blamed for the intercepts. Apart from this, the U.S. is also concerned about the Chinese military’s lack of high-level communication as military channels have been discontinued since November 2022.
