Months after Gabyy Petito’s road trip in 2021 during summer, she was reported missing. A nationwide search for Gabby Petito ended after her remains were discovered in Grand Teton National Park.

The tragic death of Gabby Petito has opened a wider conversation on domestic violence. Many believed that Gabby has suffered physical, emotional, and verbal abuse from her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.

News reports around the world have spent weeks covering Gabby’s case. The missing case of Gabby Petito surprised everyone as they were just having a cross-country trip with her boyfriend, and then Gabby suddenly disappeared.

Officers are now being questioned as to what did they wrong as the video of a couple who was pulled over by the Moab Police Department went viral.

Missing Woman, A Victim Of Domestic Violence

As the video was previewed, a clear indication shows that Gabby is a victim of domestic violence is the entirety of the body camera video shows Gabby is in different levels of distress.

According to people who are advocating against domestic violence, another sign that officers have missed is the way Gabby described her fight with her boyfriend.

After they were questioned, Moab Police separated the two for the night, But weeks later, Gabby’s body was found in Teton National Forest.

The autopsy revealed the cause of death is strangulation. The boyfriend of Gabby returned to Florida and also went missing while hiking in the Carlton Reserve.

His body was found by investigators and determined he committed suicide. He also claimed in a notebook found by his body that he is responsible for the death of Gabby Petito.

The Petito family has filed a lawsuit against the Moab Police Department. Petito’s family said the officers were not properly trained to investigate domestic violence and did not assess the circumstances.

The family of Gabby also filed a lawsuit against his boyfriend’s family. Petito’s family accused Laundries’s parents that they know that their son murdered his girlfriend and still help him leave the country.
