Scams in Michigan have been prevalent for the past few years. Now, a new scam was discovered by UIA that targets thousands of Michiganders who are relying on unemployment benefits, the Click On Detroit website reported.

Scammers are now very eager to get money from other people. When they find an opportunity to do so, they will not waste time and grab the chance to scam people.

Those who need unemployment assistance must take good care of the new scams in Michigan that is happening up until now.

Better Business Bureau put in a new warning about scammers who are UIA related. These scammers loved to target needy people.

Reports show that many are receiving emails or text messages saying that the UIA is trying to verify personal information related to their tax filing. This is very alarming because many are not vigilant enough to filter this kind of scam.

How the Scams In Michigan Happened?

The new scams in Michigan will be asking for your date of birth, SS number, home address, mother’s maiden name, and other contact information.

Better Business Bureau advises you to double-check all the emails you received and verify whether it’s true or not. Only reply to those email that are expecting and ignore those emails that you think is suspicious and you didn’t expect to receive.

These scammers might also use and steal your identity for their own. So, do not provide any personal information to anybody you are not expecting because you just made it easy for scammers to steal money from you.

Do not forget to contact UIA if you receive suspicious emails and texts.
