Launched in June 2022, the $500 stimulus check initiative aims to provide support to families and individuals in meeting their essential needs.

The Minneapolis Guaranteed Basic Income pilot program is designed to enhance financial security for low-income households, 24/7 Wall St reported.

Recipients of the program will receive a monthly $500 stimulus check from Minneapolis until June 2024, enabling them to cover expenses such as rent and food.

The city also encourages recipients to consider using the $500 stimulus check for long-term investments like education, college savings, and vehicle repairs.

The program has selected 200 households to receive these monthly payments, which began in June of last year. This June, another round of checks will be issued to families, with the payment scheduled for this Saturday.
