Americans could be eligible for a $500 one-time payment from the Build-A-Bear settlement, The U.S. Sun reported.

$4.1 Million Build-A-Bear Settlement

Customers of Build-A-Bear could be eligible for a one-time payment from the $4.1 million settlement. Build-A-Bear has settled a lawsuit about text messages and agreed to pay its customers.

Build-A-Bear agreed to pay $500 to customers who received text messages from the company between September 24, 2017, and March 28, 2023, according to the lawsuit.

On the other hand, Build-A-Bear company denied any allegations in the lawsuit.

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act bans any companies from calling or texting consumers after the consumers opted out of the services provided. The act also forces companies and maintain an official opt-out option for all communications customers.

Build-A-Bear Settlement

Qualified customers are expected to receive around $500, but it will be depending on how many customers will claim their losses. Customers should prove they sent text message terms “Quit” or “Stop,” to the Build-A-Bear company.

Build-A-Bear company will be sending texts and emails to those who qualify for the payment. Consumers must submit by July 7, 2023, because payments are expected to go out on September 6, this year.

Consumers may submit their claims through emails or text messages.
