Poudre School District Sued By Families

The parents of the students Jonathan and Erin Lee and Nick and Linnaea Jurich were represented by America First Policy Institute and Illumine Legal, they filed the lawsuit against Poudre School District.

Parents claim that they are not aware of the Gay-Straight Alliance or GSA’s operations and said club leaders have strongly urged students to hide from their parents on discussions about suicide, sexuality, gender identity, transgenderism, puberty blockers, and polyamory.

During a GSA meeting last May 4, 2021, the executive director of Supporting Pride Learning and Social Happenings (SPLASH) Kimberly Chambers, allegedly told the children that if they are not completely comfortable in their bodies, it means they are transgender. In addition, Chambers also encouraged pupils to talk about the sex and gender they are attracted to.

The Lee family told that their daughter did not even fully comprehend what suicide is until a teacher warned students that there are high cases of suicide among transgender youths. Children were advised to deal with Chambers and other teachers rather than their parents. Chambers also give the children her phone number and wants to talk to them whenever they wanted.

The Jurich family also filed a lawsuit because their daughter experienced similar experiences to the Lee family’s daughter. Jurich family claims that their daughter had begun to have her first suicidal thoughts and write them on notes and that’s what made them angry. The emotional health of their daughter also underwent a significant decline. The daughter also claims that her disturbed emotional state began after she attended the meeting.

Netizens have slammed the LGBTQ club and say why it needs to keep it a secret from the parents of the children. They root for the families to win over the case.
