This program intends to financially assist the eligible homeowners of Wyoming who are struggling to settle their property taxes with their limited incomes.An article on SweetwaterNOW states that Governor Mark Gordon of Wyoming guarantees that the Property Tax Refund program will help the homeowners without consuming the tax revenues of the local government. Under the program, eligible homeowners can apply for a property tax refund of whichever is less than 75% of their property taxes or up to 50% of the average amount of residential property tax.

Director Brenda Henson of the Wyoming Department of Revenue states that due to the expanded criteria approved by the legislature, it can be expected that the new Property Tax Refund program will assist more than half of the number of homeowners in 2022. Reports say the deadline for applications will be on June 5.
