Adhering to the payment schedule, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will be issuing another batch of Social Security checks in 2023 for the month of April. Due to the 8.7% boost in the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), the Social Security benefits have also increased to $1,83o in February 2023.

An article on Diario AS states that in comparison to the payments in November 2022 where the COLA increase was not yet in effect, the Social Security checks in 2023 were only worth up to $1,677. The average amount received in these checks was only $625 compared to the $675 received in February 2023.

April Schedule for Social Security Checks in 2023 

According to Williams, the Social Security checks in 2023 will be received beginning tomorrow, April 3. These payments will be for those who have been receiving the Social Security benefits before or since 1997. The other checks will be issued depending on the beneficiary’s birthday.

This means that beneficiaries born between the 1st and the 10th of a month will receive the Social Security checks in 2023 on April 12. Those born between the 11th and the 20th of a month will receive them on April 19. Lastly, those born between the 21st and the 31st of a month will receive them on April 26.

On the other hand, there will be no Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments for April. This is because based on the SSA schedule, SSI payments should be issued on the first day of the month except when the date falls on a weekend or a holiday. Since the first day of April is a Saturday, the SSI payments for this month were issued last March 31 instead.
