Gov. Ron DeSantis highlighted the largest Florida tax free plan worth $2 billion in his 2023-2024 state budget on Wednesday.

Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled the provisions inside his $2 billion tax free plan on Wednesday. It is so far the largest state budget recorded and it will be implemented in 2023-2024 once it is approved in the House and Senate, according to a report published in WQCS.

DeSantis announced this during a news conference in Ocala. Meanwhile, the Florida tax free plan could possibly get approval because he was accompanied by Senate President Kathleen Passidomo and House Speaker Paul Renner who both expressed support for tax cuts.

Provisions Inside Florida Tax Free Plan

The Florida tax free plan will give a huge relief to the residents of the state. The provisions are the following:

  • one year sales tax exemption on children’s items like books and toys
  • a permanent sales tax exemption on baby and toddler necessities like clothing, cribs, and strollers
  • and an expansion of the annual Back to School tax holiday.

In a published article in CBS12, the Florida tax free plan will help residents to save up to $1,000 a year. Gov. DeSantis said, “It is important that we pass those savings on to Florida families so they can keep more of their hard-earned money in their own pockets.”

Moreover, the state Governor made the announcement after he unveiled his proposed $114.8 billion budget which he has dubbed the “Framework for Freedom Budget.”
